Her Sound, Her Story – Mirabilis Collective’s Regional Tour of Music by Remarkable Women
Video Support Material (Total 5:00)
Her Sound, Her Story is a powerful, intergenerational concert celebrating music by women across centuries, cultures, and genres — from the bold expressiveness of the Baroque and Romantic eras to the songs of iconic singer-songwriters, First Nations women, and contemporary Australian voices. All works are reimagined for chamber ensemble through new arrangements commissioned from West Australian women composers.
This archival footage captures a sold-out performance presented for International Women’s Day 2025. With over 160 voices on stage — including three school choirs and a core ensemble of professional women musicians — the concert honours the voices of women past and present.
Through music and spoken narration, the program explores themes of resilience, identity, and shared storytelling. Choir collaborations, student workshops, and original arrangements make Her Sound, Her Story a meaningful and deeply engaging artistic experience — one that can be shared with communities across Western Australia and beyond.
