Elena Wittkuhn
Elena Wittkuhn is a Boorloo-based cellist, writer, and educator, passionate about the discovery and performance of music old, new, and in between.
A recipient of the Wesley Music and Peter Moore Scholarships, Elena has held the positions of Principal Cellist of the West Coast Philharmonic Orchestra and Associate Principal Cellist with the West Australian Youth Orchestra. She regularly performs with ensembles such as Fremantle Chamber Orchestra, a2 Orchestra, and a range of Perth-based chamber groups.
Elena has appeared in the Perth Festival alongside the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and Kronos Quartet, toured regionally with the St George’s College WA Quartet, and performed nationally with the Australian Youth Orchestra. She is also an inaugural Media and Communication Fellow with AYO, having recently completed their Media and Communication course to further explore the intersection between music and storytelling.
Dedicated to increasing access to new works, Elena co-founded the DEWE Quartet in 2023 and continues to seek new ways to expand her performance practice. She is beyond delighted to share the stage with Mirabilis Collective, blending her love of music, collaboration, and the celebration of women’s artistic voices.
