Mirabilis Collective performs music by women composers from the 12th to the 21st century, celebrating the creativity, resilience, and emotional depth of women’s voices across time. This rich and varied program spans sacred chant, Baroque arias, Romantic art song, contemporary classical works, and iconic songwriting—from Hildegard von Bingen and Clara Schumann to Connie Converse and Kate Bush.
Experience the remarkable legacy of Clara Schumann through her most beloved works, including the poignant slow movement of her Piano Concerto. This program illuminates the life of a brilliant composer and virtuosic pianist who defined 19th-century musical excellence.
A celebration of Australian women composers featuring new commissions by WA composers Katherine Potter and Rebecca Clarke, alongside works by Elena Kats-Chernin and Melody Eötvös. Includes innovative arrangements of contemporary Australian songwriters the Stiff Gins, Angie McMahon and Kate Miller-Heidke.
