SUPPORT OUR HEAR HER NOW FESTIVAL:

Let Her Be Heard

For centuries, women composers have been overlooked, forgotten, or never heard at all. Their music — powerful, innovative, essential — has been vastly underrepresented in concert programming, marginalised in syllabuses, and rarely recorded. We're changing that, one performance at a time.

In 2026, Mirabilis Collective will present Hear Her Now — Australia's first chamber music festival dedicated entirely to music by women composers. Spanning centuries, genres, and cultures, we will perform 100 works by women in iconic and unexpected venues across Perth. From baroque trailblazers to today's boldest voices, this is music that deserves to be heard.

Our AusArt Day campaign aims to raise $30,000 to make this festival possible. Your support will help bring it to life.

Your Impact

When you donate to Mirabilis Collective, you're directly funding new commissions by Australian women composers, ensuring today's artists have the platform and recognition they deserve. You're supporting professional fees for the musicians, arrangers, and collaborators who bring this music to audiences with excellence and care. You're enabling community engagement programs that bring this work into schools, community spaces, and beyond. And you're helping us create digital storytelling that amplifies these voices far beyond the concert stage.

Every dollar makes a difference. Here's how your contribution helps:

$50 brings us closer to commissioning a new work by an Australian woman composer
$150 contributes toward professional musician fees for festival performances
$500 helps fund community engagement programs in schools and local venues
$1,000+ makes you a founding supporter of Australia's first women composers chamber music festival

Of course, donations of any amount are deeply valued and make this work possible.

Why This Matters

“To support Mirabilis is to support women, creativity, and connection. Their work is joyful, necessary, and beautifully done.”
— Audience Member, Her Sound, Her Story (2025)

“Composing and arranging for Mirabilis Collective has been a turning point in my career as an emerging composer. Not only has it allowed me to refine my compositional skills under the mentorship and guidance I have graciously received, but it has also given me the chance to collaborate with musicians and leaders in a truly supportive and encouraging environment. Through my work with Mirabilis, I have had three commissions professionally performed and reviewed, which has been incredibly impactful in establishing myself as a composer in the professional landscape.”
— Candice Susnjar, 2024 Composer in Residence

Since 2023, we've performed works by over 90 women composers, brought music into schools and communities across Western Australia, and created space for intergenerational mentorship and collaboration. With your support, we'll reach even further — ensuring that women's creative legacy doesn't just survive, but thrives, evolves, and inspires.
