Emily Clements
Emily Clements is a versatile flautist and researcher with an impressive career spanning performance, education, and psychology. She studied music at the University of Western Australia, where she graduated with honours before continuing her studies at the prestigious Sibelius Academy in Helsinki, Finland. She later earned a Prix de Perfectionnement from the Conservatoire Nationale de Musique in Paris.
A seasoned performer, Emily has played as a soloist with the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra in the Symphony Australia Young Performers Awards and has been invited to perform with Finnish orchestras. In Australia, she regularly performs with the West Australian Philharmonic Orchestra and and has performed as Principal Flute for the Perth Baroque Orchestra and Darwin Symphony Orchestra. She has also appeared at the Perth International Arts Festival Chamber Music Weekend with Ensemble Vagabond.
Beyond performance, Emily is dedicated to education, and has taught flute at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts, in her private studio and at numerous Perth schools. She is also an accomplished researcher, currently pursuing a combined MPsych/PhD (Clinical Psychology) at the University of Western Australia. Her research explores empathy and emotion regulation following acquired brain injury (ABI), focusing on how these processes interrelate and their impact on interpersonal relationships and well-being.
