Katrina Soares is a third year percussionist completing a Bachelor of Music at the University of Western Australia. She has studied with Principal Percussionist of the West Australian Symphony Orchestra Brian Maloney and is currently studying with Dr. Paul Tanner.

Katrina has performed as a soloist at a number of events including The Spirit of theArts Festival 2022, City of Joondalup Young Musician of the Year Award presented by Perth Symphony Orchestra and the Paganini Marathon presented by Cygnus Arioso in 2024. Last year, she also performed as a chamber musician in the Boom! International Festival of Percussion, Side By Side concert with WASO and with Catherine Likhuta during her residency at UWA.

Katrina currently tutors students from Years 7-12 at Mercedes College and has assisted at the Kaboom Percussion Summer School for the last two years. Katrina currently performs with the Western Australian Youth Orchestra and Piñata Percussion.
