Tresna Stampalia

Tresna Stampalia is an accomplished and versatile flautist whose professional career spans orchestral performances, musical theatre, chamber music, and cross-cultural collaborations. As the founder and director of the chamber music ensemble Tres Classique, she has established herself as a prominent figure in West Australian music. Her orchestral experience is extensive, having performed with numerous symphony orchestras across Australia, including regular appearances with WASO and Perth Symphony Orchestra.

Tresna’s expertise in musical theatre is equally impressive, having played Principal Flute in national touring productions of iconic shows such as “The Phantom of the Opera”, “Les Misérables”, and “The Lion King”, where she showcased her versatility on pan pipes and traditional Asian and Irish flutes.

Tresna’s passion for exploring the flute’s role in various cultural traditions is evident in her recent collaborations. She has performed on the Bansuri flute with Er Hu Master Eddie Li, served as bamboo flute soloist in a unique performance blending didgeridoo and strings for the Japanese Consulate, and contributed her skills on classical flute, pan pipes, and Asian flutes to the Matagarup Bridge project, working alongside Whadjuk Noongar Elders.

Dedicated to nurturing the next generation of musicians, Tresna serves as a sessional lecturer in flute studies at WAAPA and is committed to teaching at all levels. Her role as an experienced AMEB examiner and adjudicator for various eisteddfods and competitions further underscores her commitment to music education.
